Bring your Montana landscaping vision to life through a plan of action.
Our landscaping design is a comprehensive process.
In our first meeting, we will get to know you and your desires for your outdoor living space. We will then take measurements, photos, and survey your backyard depending on the scope of your project. From there, we will start an initial rough draft sketch and work with you to perfect the sketch before executing a color rendered plan and more detailed design plans.
Landscape design is similar to interior design in that there are basic rules for creating a beautiful outdoor living space.
Our goal is to create defined “rooms” throughout your landscape. For example, we want to keep work spaces (where the garden tools are stored and garden hoses are coiled) separate from the entertaining areas, where guests relax in the backyard. Every great landscape has focal points, clearly defined areas, privacy elements, and landscaping that helps frame whatever view is best seen from the front or back yard.

Professional design helps to ensure no little detail gets missed, such as:
Making sure a greeting area and walkway to the front door is wide enough and unobstructed (no oversize living material)
The right plants go in the right places (shade plants in shady areas, and plants that need more sun in the more sunny areas)
Ensuring the best view from your yard is the focal point of the landscape
Letting the sun guide the landscape, design is not without thought! We make sure that we look at the patterns of the sun around your house and don’t put the wrong elements in an area with too much sun exposure, and vice versa.
And more!
Answers to Frequently Asked Landscape Design Questions

Our 3D models are a perfect way to get a multi-dimensional look at what your house and future yard will be like. Picturing your yard with this model is extremely important to understanding how your yard will come together, and getting the finished feeling of your outdoor space.

Depends on your situation! We don’t recommend a design package for all of our customers. If you are doing a more basic custom landscape (you already have exactly what you want in your head and don’t need the visualization) then no need to spend the money on design. If you are wanting a more cumbersome and unique design for your dream yard, then the design package is definitely a key element to understanding what the final product looks like and how it will function.
